Battle of the Blends

he Battle of the Blends is always a sell-out event. Our audiences have come to love thisextraordinary gathering of a cappella talent. Groups from around New England gather to present a variety of a cappella music, ranging from madrigals to modern jazz and pop. This year’s groups include: None of the Above, the Crosstones, Northfield, ELHS Fermata Nowhere, the Afternotes and the Maine Music Society Chamber Singers.

Bach Mass in B Minor

his year the Chorale will present the
incredible Mass in B Minor by Johann Sebastian Bach. This magnum opus was composed over several decades and finally assembled by Bach near the end of his life. The work has been widely hailed as one of the greatest compositions of all time. The Maine Music Society Chorale and Orchestra will perform this timeless piece by the most celebrated composer of the 18th century. Professional soloists will join the Chorale for this special presentation.

nce again the Chorale will celebrate the music  of two extraordinary popular composers. These musicians composed and performed so many favorites! Selections of James Taylor songs will include How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You, Sweet Baby James, and Fire and Rain. Selections of Carole King will include such wonderful songs as It’s Too Late, I Feel the Earth Move, and You’ve Got a Friend. To be sure, everyone will be delighted to hear once again songs by these spectacular composers.
